The learning and development opportunities provided by Arts & Business Cymru aim to strengthen the management and governance of the arts across Wales. Services range from one-to-one surgeries, to specific courses and seminars to skills transfer programmes.
Advice Surgeries
Arts managers and practitioners can access our advice surgeries, which cover all aspects of business partnership. Extended advice surgeries can also be arranged with business managers who have specific areas of expertise.
Skills Bank
Skills Bank matches business managers who have specialist expertise with arts organisations that need help with a specific area of management. Placements are short-term and part-time, with the emphasis on ‘skills transfer’. They focus on particular issues, usually of a strategic nature e.g. business planning, finance, marketing, HR and IT.
Mentoring
Mentoring encourages senior business managers to use their knowledge and experience to help arts managers develop to their full potential. It concentrates on the role of the business mentor as a sounding board and confidence-giver, focusing on the individual arts manager rather than the arts organisation.
