Hook

“It was very encouraging to see arts and culture projects shortlisted in many categories. HSBC won not one, but two of the Hollis Awards, indicating the strength of their cultural programme and its international reach.”
Colin Tweedy, Chief Executive of Arts & Business

“The Indian Summer season engaged clients, prospective clients and employees and had a significant impact on our business so we are delighted that its success has been recognised by the Hollis Sponsorship Awards. The importance of Cultural Exchange is in the bank’s DNA and we continue to build strong international business relationships by supporting cultural organisations, projects and people around the world.”

At a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor Square on Tuesday 9 March 2010, HSBC was presented with both the Arts & Business Arts Sponsorship of the Year award and the Hollis Corporate Sponsorship of the Year award for its international programme of Indian celebrations surrounding its sponsorship of Indian Summer, a season of exhibitions and events at the British Museum last year.

The Hollis Sponsorship Awards’ judging panel, made up of professionals from each area of the industry, recognises the creativity, rationale and results of the most effective sponsorship campaigns in the UK and internationally across a range of sectors and budgets. The Indian Summer sponsorship was praised for its targeted approach, strong brand alignment and demonstrable success.

Indian Summer forms part of HSBC’s Cultural Exchange programme, which has previously included sponsorship of the China Design Now exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2008.

As the world's local bank, HSBC believes that Cultural Exchange brings important business benefits and knows how important it is to appreciate and understand different views and values in order to build successful relationships.
