Arts & Business North Awards 2010 in association with Arup... shortlist announced

Hook

Arts & Business says ...

“We were especially thrilled to receive so many first class entries for the Sustained Partnership Award which recognises established, on-going partnerships that set ongoing high standards in creative arts-business collaborations. Entrants to this category have to show how they have been involved already for a minimum of 3 years and demonstrate future commitment to their arts partner. It is this type of sustained commitment with business partners that enable the arts to truly flourish throughout the North. The calibre of entrants to this category certainly gave the judging panel an extremely tough but rewarding time debating to finalise the short-list!”
Brenda Parkerson, Director, Arts & Business North

“Overall, we have been incredibly delighted with the range and scope of entries to each of the five categories and the entrants have demonstrated just how vibrant the arts and commerce partnerships are across our whole region. The valuable investment that commercial partners make in their support of the arts, in terms of their time, knowledge, experience and not just financial assistance, simply cannot be underestimated and over the past tough two years, has been vital to the very existence of many arts projects throughout the North.”
Richard Brown, Director, Arts & Business Yorkshire

"The nomination and shortlisting for our first North Awards has re-iterated the strength and value of partnerships between business and the cultural sector at many levels, not just financial. The range and number of nominations show that despite the wider economic climate, businesses understand that cultural engagement is an important part of the business mix bringing benefits for business, employees, the community and the region as a whole."
Adam Lopardo, Director, The Sponsors Club for Arts & Business North East

The short-listed finalists of The Arts & Business North Awards 2010 have been announced ahead of the toughly contested final awards event to be held at City Inn Leeds Hotel on Tuesday 23 March 2010.
