Celebrating people who generously give their time, expertise, and money to help our cultural organisations flourish

Midlands Cultural Champions event 2010, with Ed Vaizey MP

The arts in this country could not survive without the passionate support of thousands of people who generously give their time, expertise, and money to help our cultural organisations flourish.

For this reason we created our Cultural Champions initiative to publicly acknowledge the tremendous value these individuals bring to the arts, and to encourage others to get involved.

We hold a number of prestigious events each year, with a Government Minister or VIP as guest of honour, to celebrate these Cultural Champions. The events provide an opportunity to thank those who are making the most difference to the arts, and highlight their stories to inspire others. 2011 has been a particularly important year because of our role as an official partner of the Office for Civil Society as part of the European Year of Volunteering 2011.
