Services for the arts

FAQs

Answers to some common questions about our arts services

Can Arts & Business find me a sponsor?

We are here to guide you through the steps before, during and after you set up a sponsorship proposal  - from making the ask to submitting an evaluation after the project. Check out the Fundraising Toolkit for useful factsheets and guidelines.

Can Arts & Business find me a donor/philanthropist/venture capitalist?

We can help you learn more about individual giving and appealing to donors. Check out our Philanthropy pages.

Would Arts & Business ‘match fund’ my sponsorship/partnership with a business?

We no longer run a matching programme in England. Programmes may be available in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland – contact our offices in those nations for more information.

Does Arts & Business have a list of businesses to contact for sponsorship?

It is important to note that just because a business supports another arts organisation, it does not mean that they will support you. Businesses sponsor cultural organisations because of the specific business objectives that that sponsorship will help them achieve. You therefore need to focus your attention on those businesses that can benefit from a partnership with you, whether they have sponsored the arts before or not. View some of our case studies to see which businesses support the arts.

Can you give me feedback on my sponsorship proposal or talk to me about a project idea I have?

Unfortunately Arts & Business does not have the resources to provide one-on-one advice services for everyone. However, as part of our membership benefits, Arts members can always contact us and set an appointment for a free face-to-face surgery or request a more in-depth tailored consultancy at a discounted price. Non-members may of course also contact us for a consultancy quote, and for any general enquires we will endeavour to address your needs as best we can. Read about our consultancy service.

Can you help me to reach businesses who might buy my art?

You may be interested in the Arts & Business Visual programme, managed by our Birmingham office. Visual is an inspiring and flexible contemporary art service for businesses and business people, providing sales, loans and commissions together with events, employee engagement and consultancy.

I need a new board member. Can you help?

Yes we offer a complete range of board development services. Check out the Board Services pages.
