Board Services
Specialist advice on how to energise your board, enhance their skills and expand your potential donor network
Cockpit Arts has successfully recruited new Trustees via the Arts & Business Board Bank over the past several years. The scheme is an excellent source of talented business people who are passionate about working in the arts, and who have already been trained by Arts & Business in matters of good trusteeship and charity governance. We are always impressed by the skilled way that the team at Arts & Business undertake the matching process and by the calibre of business people wishing to become Trustees. Cockpit Arts is all the stronger for it. - Vanessa Swann, Chief Executive, Cockpit Arts
Given the complexity of the corporate world – and the fierce competition for marketing and CSR budgets – arts organisations need expert leadership to secure funding. We offer tailored skills, training, advice and support for boards and board members, providing the practical help and elusive insight that can make all the difference.
Board Bank
Our Board Bank service connects business people with arts organisations, allowing them to bring their distinctive qualities to the cultural sector. They come to us with business acumen, vision and energy – and a passion for the arts. We train them in good governance and help them understand their new roles and responsibilities. Then we match them with boards of suitable arts and cultural organisations to achieve a mutually valuable, lasting board level relationship.
While we cannot guarantee to find you a board member, since 1988 we have placed more than 5,000 business people as non-executive board members and advisors with not-for-profit arts organisations.
PLEASE NOTE:
Board Bank operates mainly in urban centres (London, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester) and is only available to our arts members.
We are most successful in matching individuals with charities that have:
- An existing board
- A turnover of more than £100k and
- Three or more staff
If you are already an Arts member, fulfil the above criteria and would like to apply please download our Board Bank application form below or contact:
